Is Fetch Rewards a legit app?
Yes, it’s a legit app. The best part of it is that you can upload the receipts from ANY grocery, convenience, liquor, and drugstores in the United States. There is no need to check for available coupons each time you go shopping. The bonus points for participating brands are added automatically once the system processes your uploaded receipt.
Here is my account with 13,852 points (worth $13.8 if I chose, for example, Amazon gift card as my reward):
How does Fetch Rewards app work?
The process is very simple. Just follow the steps below.
You can sign up directly on FetchRewards.com.
To get SignUp Bonus of 2,000 points (aka $2), you must enter the code: A9KJM. The bonus will be available after you scan your first receipt.
Download the app
Next, download the app to your smartphone. Be aware that on Apple iPhone it may take about 140MB of space. The app itself is user-friendly and works quite fast.
Participating Brands
Once you have downloaded the app, take a tour and check the list of 250+ participating brands. You can mark those you like as favorites. Every time you have an item from one of these brands on your scanned receipt you’ll get a bonus that can be in 50-500 points range ($0.05 – $0.5).
Some of the well known national brands you can find on Fetch Rewards are Pepsi, Tropicana, Campbells, Heinz, Classico, Kraft, Hellmans, Philadelphia, Knorr, Oscar Mayer, Magnum, Quacker, Pepperidge Farm, Snyders, Lipton, Dove, Suave, Blue Moon, Miller, Gevalia and many others.
Special offers
In addition to the regular points, there are several special offers available. These can bring you more substantial cashback of about 500-5000 points. Sometimes, there are even freebies (100% back in points), like this pack of Vegetable Juice pictured here.
Scan the receipts
The app has an easy access to the camera of your smartphone. Remember to scan the receipt within 14 days of the checkout date printed on the receipt. There is a limit of 14 scanned receipts per any 7 rolling days (not necessary a calendar week).
Place your receipt on a flat dark surface, open the app and click on “Scan” button on the bottom. Take a clear picture and add more sections if required to capture the whole slip. After quick processing, you’ll be able to see how many points you’ve got.
Cash out options
You will be eligible to cash out once you have 3,000 points, meaning you can choose $3 gift card from a retailer like Amazon, Target. Some gift card options start from 5,000 points – Columbia, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s, Nordstrom and more. Others have higher minimum requirements.
There are Mastercard and Visa prepaid card options as well, but they have kind of a hidden fee, as in order to get $10 card you’ll have to redeem 11,500 points. I’d rather get $11.5 for Amazon.
Just a quick warning: points will expire if the account is inactive for 90 days. Usually, once you start using this app, it becomes a regular and almost automated habit, so I don’t think you are going to forget to redeem your rewards.
Refer your friends
Every Fetch Rewards member gets it’s own referral code to share with the friends. The referral bonus is 2,000 points (aka $2) for each friend that joins with your referral code and uploads at least one approved receipt.
Fetch Rewards Customer Support
I had to contact Customer support several times when the app couldn’t read the store logo or a date on one of my receipts. Customer support representatives answered my ticket in a couple of days and manually added points to my account.
If you need any help, just got to “Me” >> Help Center >> Contact Us and write about your issue.
How much money can you make with Fetch Rewards?
As with other grocery apps, it depends on the size of your household and your shopping habits. You get 25 points just for uploading any receipt. On top of that, the more items from participating brands you buy, the more points will be credited to your account.
Remember, this is just a cash back from what you spend anyway, not any kind of work from home program. You are not going to be rich, but you can accumulate a nice amount during the year. It’s very common to redeem the rewards from this type of apps during the Holidays and buy presents for the family using the money or the gift cards.
How to maximize your Fetch Rewards cashback?
- Don’t crinkle your receipts and keep clean them clean.
- Take the images in a well-lit area, without shadows covering or blocking any part of the receipt
- Be sure to capture the store logo, checkout date and time and the total of the purchase.
More tips from MoCashForYou
- Make scanning receipts to several grocery shopping apps a part of your shopping routine. I usually scan right after I’m back from the shopping trip.
- Lay your receipts flat on the dark surface and scan them to all the apps you use, like Ibotta, Fetch Rewards, Receipt Hog and Checkout 51 at once. Easy peasy fast and done.
MoCashForYou Verdict:
Fetch Rewards is a legitimate app that works at any grocery retailer, convenience store, supermarket or club wholesaler in the United States. You are not going to be rich from using it, but you can accumulate a nice amount during the year and receive a gift card from a wide selection of available options.

Hey Mary, My wife and I are retired and always looking for deals and ways to save money. This looks awesome. She loves Groupon and uses it all the time. I have to show here this and get the app. I’ll take anything when it comes to cash back! I’m passing this on to my sister too. She’ll love it! Thank you!

I like this app! I had not heard of it before, but it is certainly something I am going to download and start using. Seems quite simple and the rewards look great! I am glad I found your review. Thank you!
Great! I’m so glad you liked it!
It’s very simple and useful. Enjoy the cash back!
Mary
I so wish this was available to me where I live. I will pass this info along to my brother-in-law – he will be grateful for it. It looks like a great app.
Hi Donna,
Thank you for stopping by. Sure, pass the info to your family in the US, they will thank you.
All the best,
Mary
A buddy of mine was telling me about apps that save you money at the grocery store, so I went out and did a little research and stumbled upon your article. This is great, I am a little behind the times, I need to download this app. I love the fact that you don’t have to clip any coupons, and it’s available at any grocery store in the US. Does it work only on food purchases, or other items as well? Thanks for sharing this review, I appreciate it.
Hi Steve!
Thank you for asking, it’s a great question.
Fetch Rewards works with many great brands, not only food. It has Beauty and Personal care brands as well, like Dove, AXE, Degree, Nexxus (great shampoo!), Pond’s, Suave, Simple, Vaseline and more. In addition, there are 42 brands in the Beer Wine and Spirits category.
I use several grocery apps at the same time. Why leave money on the table?
All the best
Mary
It looks like a great app. We need one like this in Canada!
Hi Tricia,
I think I know one that works in Canada. Will try to post it soon.
Mary
I hadn’t heard of this reward program before. I use Ibotta and Walmart Savings Catcher all the time, but it will be nice to add this one, too. Thank you. I think this will be a nice addition to my ways to save and get money back!
Thanks for listing the cons, too!
Hi Karin,
Great to hear from you.
Ibotta is my favorite grocery app as well, but Fetch Rewards has its own unique features that make it worth using along with the other grocery apps.
It doesn’t take too much additional effort if you are already used to scan receipts.
Hope you will enjoy it as I do
Mary
I signed up! Looking forward to seeing the rewards! Thanks for posting about this!
That’s great! Enjoy it!
