What Is The Fetch Rewards App? – More Grocery Savings For You

Is Fetch Rewards a legit app?

Yes, it’s a legit app. The best part of it is that you can upload the receipts from ANY grocery, convenience, liquor, and drugstores in the United States. There is no need to check for available coupons each time you go shopping. The bonus points for participating brands are added automatically once the system processes your uploaded receipt.

Here is my account with 13,852 points (worth $13.8 if I chose, for example, Amazon gift card as my reward):

I have $13 in my Fetch Rewards account

How does Fetch Rewards app work?

The process is very simple. Just follow the steps below.

You can sign up directly on FetchRewards.com.

To get SignUp Bonus of 2,000 points (aka $2), you must enter the code: A9KJM. The bonus will be available after you scan your first receipt.

Download the app

Next, download the app to your smartphone. Be aware that on Apple iPhone it may take about 140MB of space. The app itself is user-friendly and works quite fast.

Participating Brands

Once you have downloaded the app, take a tour and check the list of 250+ participating brands. You can mark those you like as favorites. Every time you have an item from one of these brands on your scanned receipt you’ll get a bonus that can be in 50-500 points range ($0.05 – $0.5).

Some of the well known national brands you can find on Fetch Rewards are Pepsi, Tropicana, Campbells, Heinz, Classico, Kraft, Hellmans, Philadelphia, Knorr, Oscar Mayer, Magnum, Quacker, Pepperidge Farm, Snyders, Lipton, Dove, Suave, Blue Moon, Miller, Gevalia and many others.

Special offers

In addition to the regular points, there are several special offers available. These can bring you more substantial cashback of about 500-5000 points. Sometimes, there are even freebies (100% back in points), like this pack of Vegetable Juice pictured here.

special offer and freebie

Scan the receipts

The app has an easy access to the camera of your smartphone. Remember to scan the receipt within 14 days of the checkout date printed on the receipt. There is a limit of 14 scanned receipts per any 7 rolling days (not necessary a calendar week).

Place your receipt on a flat dark surface, open the app and click on “Scan” button on the bottom. Take a clear picture and add more sections if required to capture the whole slip. After quick processing, you’ll be able to see how many points you’ve got.

Scanned receipt with bonus points

Cash out options

You will be eligible to cash out once you have 3,000 points, meaning you can choose $3 gift card from a retailer like Amazon, Target. Some gift card options start from 5,000 points – Columbia, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohl’s, Nordstrom and more. Others have higher minimum requirements.

There are Mastercard and Visa prepaid card options as well, but they have kind of a hidden fee, as in order to get $10 card you’ll have to redeem 11,500 points. I’d rather get $11.5 for Amazon.

amazon and target gift cards

Just a quick warning: points will expire if the account is inactive for 90 days. Usually, once you start using this app, it becomes a regular and almost automated habit, so I don’t think you are going to forget to redeem your rewards.

Refer your friends

Every Fetch Rewards member gets it’s own referral code to share with the friends. The referral bonus is 2,000 points (aka $2) for each friend that joins with your referral code and uploads at least one approved receipt.

Fetch Rewards Customer Support

I had to contact Customer support several times when the app couldn’t read the store logo or a date on one of my receipts. Customer support representatives answered my ticket in a couple of days and manually added points to my account.

If you need any help, just got to “Me” >> Help Center >> Contact Us and write about your issue.

How much money can you make with Fetch Rewards?

As with other grocery apps, it depends on the size of your household and your shopping habits. You get 25 points just for uploading any receipt. On top of that, the more items from participating brands you buy, the more points will be credited to your account.

Remember, this is just a cash back from what you spend anyway, not any kind of work from home program. You are not going to be rich, but you can accumulate a nice amount during the year. It’s very common to redeem the rewards from this type of apps during the Holidays and buy presents for the family using the money or the gift cards.

How to maximize your Fetch Rewards cashback?

  1. Don’t crinkle your receipts and keep clean them clean.
  2. Take the images in a well-lit area, without shadows covering or blocking any part of the receipt
  3. Be sure to capture the store logo, checkout date and time and the total of the purchase.

More tips from MoCashForYou

  1. Make scanning receipts to several grocery shopping apps a part of your shopping routine. I usually scan right after I’m back from the shopping trip.
  2. Lay your receipts flat on the dark surface and scan them to all the apps you use, like Ibotta, Fetch Rewards, Receipt Hog and Checkout 51 at once. Easy peasy fast and done.

MoCashForYou Verdict:

Fetch Rewards is a legitimate app that works at any grocery retailer, convenience store, supermarket or club wholesaler in the United States. You are not going to be rich from using it, but you can accumulate a nice amount during the year and receive a gift card from a wide selection of available options.

Sign up on FetchRewards.com or just download the app. Be sure to enter the code A9KJM to get a $2 sign-up bonus.

    Hi Mary,
I never heard of discounting apps for anything, so the entire discounting system is something new I’ve learned from your posts. Thanks for taking time to describe the process of signing up and all the rules of these apps in such detail!
I do have a question, though: when you say that the app is legitimate, what do you mean? which factors do you consider?
I mean, all the time I was reading your reviews about Ibot, Fetch Rewards, Parabus and others, I was wondering who would be interested in giving people extra money for their own shopping… to me, it just sounds too good to be true. I did download Fetch Rewards app into my phone, though, because your review sounded great. But the first step was to sign their Terms&Conditions, so I read that fine print and discovered (in the Privacy section) that not only I need to provide my DOB and mailing address to be able to start using Fetch Rewards, but the app will be collecting information on the sites I visit over the internet, the contacts I’ll be emailing to, the other apps I am using on my phone, etc. – and then sharing it with “the third parties”. To me, that did not sound too promising, especially because this data will never get erased, even if later I decide to sign off.
As I said, I am new to the entire system. So I’d appreciate your comments/thoughts on this.
Thanks – and safe savings! 😉

      Hi Margarita,
Thank you for sharing your concerns.
When I say that the app is legitimate, I mean several things:
      1. The app works as promised. For example, Fetch Rewards really pays for every grocery receipt uploaded in the right way. It really gives me credit for buying from the participating brands.
      2. when you have big enough balance, you are able to cash out. I’ve got my Amazon gift card from Fetch rewards in a timely manner after submitting a request.
      3. No negative impact on my phone performance, no unwanted emails in my inbox.

      Why these apps pay you?
      1. Some of them, like Ibotta, are just digital coupons sponsored by the manufacturer. Same as in Sunday newspapers, just via an app. The manufacturers hope you’ll buy more from their products.
      2. They sell aggregated data. Meaning something like “35% of households prefer Colgate toothpaste”. They don’t sell your personal data.
      3. Having big clients database allows the app to promote some partner offers and get paid for signups.

The only thing you need in order to get the gift card from Fetch Rewards is an email. I don’t remember providing my DOB or other personal information. You can use a fake DOB if you are asked, as nobody is going to check it. I don’t think this app is even capable of collecting information about your internet habits.
If you are concerned, don’t provide your real information. I usually “adjust” my DOB by 1-2 days when asked by different sites and apps. This way I keep my demographic profile relevant without giving away too much.

Let me know if you have any additional questions. I’m happy to help.

Mary, thanks so much for the detailed and very informative answer!
It really has alleviated my worries about privacy and, yes, those limitless spam messages in my inbox.
And you are so right about “adjusting” DOB!.. I’ll be sure to register for Fetch Rewards tonight.

All the best to you and your family,
        ~ Margarita

            Thanks again, Mary!
I did use your code. Although the sign-up bonus I received was 2000 points (i.e. $2 equivalent), my latest receipts amounted to another dollar and change, so I am glad to get my first amazon gift card;)
Like you said, it’s not going to make me rich, but it’s a nice reward for doing something that’s necessary.
            Kind regards,
            ~ Margarita

            Hi Margarita,
I’m glad you signed up and were able to get your first cash out from Fetch Rewards
            Two things to try:
            1. Contact their support (in the app Me>>Help Center>>Contact us) and ask why you didn’t get $3 as they promised for several days now.
Usually, they are very friendly and answer quickly in a day or so
            2. Try additional app – CoinOut that pays you for ANY receipt. You can upload the same receipt to both Fetch Rewards and CoinOut as well. It’s very fast scanning and it adds up as well.
            Happy savings!

This seems to be legit and worth trying.I like the fact that it has 250+ famous brands included. That are commonto every household, which means, many will benefit. And that you can just scan the receiptsand no need to put all of them in your wallet!Although 140 MB size is huge for an app, if will help me save some bucks, I woulddefinitely try it.But unfortunately, I’m not from the US 😁.Guess, I’ll just let a friend of mine benefit from your post.

OH wow!  This really does sound like an excellent app to be using.  I am trying to get started with the digital couponing thing.  I am a bit behind the times and technology usually eludes me.  This app sounds simple and worth looking into further.  I love shopping on Amazon and the idea of using the rewards to buy gifts is excellent.  It would save so much at the holidays. Thank you for your article and for bringing this great app to light.  I have signed up for your newsletter and I am so excited to see new ways to save.

In my newsletter I’ll share more ways that I use to save and make money online. I’m working on a new course for email subscribers!

Wow! This is amazing, about halfway through your article it finally clicked, don’t get me wrong I’ve seen other coupon reward programs out there. Getting a referral fee is what did it for me, I can share this with friends and get more discounts at local grocery stores. Also the ease-of-use, if it works as stated taking a photo of a receipt is all that needs to be done, it’s a no-brainer. Signing up shortly, thank you!

Now, this could be really useful!  I’ve never seen one of these apps. I read the review on the Ibotta, too. Both are very interesting and very well written.

I’ll have to go get them both downloaded onto my cell so I can have them the next time I go shopping.

      Hi Marsha (or Michael?),

I’m glad to introduce you to these apps. I’m sure you’ll find a good use for the money that you’ll be saving with them.

With Ibotta, it’s worth to check the available offers before you go shopping. With Fetch Rewards, you don’t need to – you’ll get the credit if you buy the participating brands.

      Happy savings!

Wow, I’m so glad I encountered your post as I was searching for new apps to download. I always look for apps that get me money for grocery shopping. It quickly adds up and I like getting a few dollars back. Eventually, after a few trips those points will add up and I will be able to redeem them for a gift card of my choice. I will definitely download Fetch today under your referral code. Thank you for this thorough review.

Hope you’ll enjoy Fetch Rewards as I do.

Good advice, I’ve been using Ibotta and Ebates a lot, but I am always looking for more ways to save and make money.  I also like how Fetch Rewards has a referral program to help you earn money.

It does seem very similar to Ibotta, which I use almost every day.  I like that you can get points from uploading any reciept, because I have a lot of them.

Let me ask you this though, can you double dip between the two apps? It seems like you could upload your receipt to Ibotta and Fetch Rewards for that same purchase.

      Hi James,

Thank you for a great question!

Yes, you can. Ibotta gives you rebates for specific products. Fetch Rewards pays for each receipt plus for buying products from participating brands (those can be the same products that Ibotta offers a coupon on).

I like that I don’t need to browse every week and look if there are any coupons. I just shop as I normally do and upload to Fetch Rewards. If I bought the right brand, it will be rewarded automatically.

Referral program is also good. Sometimes they have kind of boost periods when you get more than $2 (usually $3 or even $4).

      Happy savings!

      Hi Steve!
Thank you for asking, it’s a great question.
Fetch Rewards works with many great brands, not only food. It has Beauty and Personal care brands as well, like Dove, AXE, Degree, Nexxus (great shampoo!), Pond’s, Suave, Simple, Vaseline and more. In addition, there are 42 brands in the Beer Wine and Spirits category.
I use several grocery apps at the same time. Why leave money on the table?

      Great to hear from you.
Ibotta is my favorite grocery app as well, but Fetch Rewards has its own unique features that make it worth using along with the other grocery apps.
It doesn’t take too much additional effort if you are already used to scan receipts.
Hope you will enjoy it as I do
